$2M from Janice and Earle O’Born is helping advance emerging technology in orthopaedic surgery
Thanks to the generosity of Janice and Earle O’Born, Sinai Health is investing in technologies that will elevate its national and international leadership in complex orthopedic reconstructive surgery.
A significant portion of the recent $2 million O’Born gift will transform care for knee patients by supporting the purchase of a total-knee arthroplasty surgical robotic system. Furthermore, the O’Born family’s generosity will fund cutting-edge augmented reality technology, enabling futuristic “x-ray vision” that allows surgeons to visualize anatomic details the human eye cannot detect.
We are especially grateful to the O’Born family, as their $2 million gift delivers significant impact at a poignant time when emerging technology is impacting the way Sinai Health operates. As a testament to our gratitude, we have renamed the newly designed surgical waiting area the Janice and Earle O’Born Surgical Waiting Room.
