In May 2025, Discovery Brunch brought together more than 100 young industry leaders for an afternoon of networking while raising money for a greater cause. This inspiring afternoon raised over $90,000 to support Sinai Health’s Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute and ultimately to help fuel life-changing discoveries in cancer, diabetes, digestive diseases and more. This brunch was hosted by Future Sinai, a group of young professionals who are making a real impact on health care, having contributed $700,000 to Sinai Health to date.

The Ezras Awards – named after the Ezras Noshem, the women who rallied the community and raised funds to create Mount Sinai Hospital more than 100 years ago – recognized the commitment and leadership of Sinai Health’s volunteer leaders this past summer. Congratulations to this year’s recipients: Gerald W. Schwartz, O.C., Janice O’Born, C.M., O.Ont., and Catherine Murray. All of the winners have demonstrated exceptional generosity and leadership for Sinai Health. These awards ensure the legacy of volunteerism lives on!

The first-ever Carnival for Care took place last summer to raise funds for Arielle’s Snack Bar and families at the Newton Glassman Charitable Foundation Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Arielle’s Snack Bar was founded to ensure NICU families have easy access to healthy, nourishing snacks throughout their stay. The carnival brought the community together for games, food and festivities and raised $43,000! We are filled with gratitude to see such love and support extended to NICU families.

Our longest-running fundraiser, the Annual Mount Sinai Classic, was held near the end of last summer and raised over $700,000. Featuring a day of golf, a curated silent auction and the debut of a Helicopter Ball Drop, the Mount Sinai Classic in 2025 marked 31 years of success and $15 million raised in support of visionary research at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute. We are grateful to everyone who made this possible, with special thanks to our presenting sponsors, Equitable Bank and Peerage Capital.

Cause for the ‘Pause delivered an inspiring afternoon of connection, conversation and learning, raising over $400,000 for the Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health. Presented by Mantella Corporation, the event featured an elegant lunch, a dynamic live auction and an engaging panel discussion moderated by Catherine Murray, with insights from Drs. Wendy Wolfman and Paula Rochon. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the funds raised will support research, education and care for women as they age.

Sinai Health Foundation celebrated World Menopause Day on October 18 by raising support for research in women’s health with the Cold Plunge Challenge. Over 90 participants braved the cold at home, their gyms and in local lakes, or they showed up to join the community cold plunge at Lake Ontario. Every plunge, every story shared and every bit of fundraising from our community came together and supported critical research in women’s health.

Fuelled by energy and community spirit, Spin for Sinai raised more than $671,000 last fall to advance inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care at Sinai Health and beyond. The event welcomed 121 riders across two high-energy cycling sessions, with the second ride added to meet growing demand. Since launching, Spin for Sinai has raised $2.8 million, with over $30,000 from dedicated supporter Michelle Abbott. Sinai Health is grateful to Spin for Sinai’s founders, Stacey and Jonathan Gitlin, and to all supporters driving progress in IBD care.

Leadership Sinai’s signature fundraiser, The pARTy, presented by the David and Stacey Cynamon Family Foundation, was once again hosted at the iconic Historic Don Jail at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital on October 29, 2025. Over 100 attendees, including entrepreneurial leaders in law, tech and real estate, alongside passionate art enthusiasts and collectors, gathered for a spooky, avant-garde-themed night featuring an art auction in support of the groundbreaking research at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute. Leadership Sinai has raised more than $21 million for Sinai Health to date.

Industry leaders and top executives from Canada’s asset management and real estate sectors came together in November for the Hold’em for Life Charity Challenge, a unique evening of friendly competition to raise funds for the training of fellows in cancer research. In a remarkable achievement, this entirely volunteer-led organization raised $5.17 million this year – $3.17 million from the 19th Annual Real Estate event and $2 million from the 13th Annual Asset Management event.

On November 19, 2025, we debuted our first-ever Sinai Showdown, a high-energy, game show-style fundraiser hosted by Gerry Dee! Four spirited families – the Cynamons, Goldsteins, Kimels and Pilosofs – competed in an unforgettable evening of fun, laughter, friendly rivalry and incredible generosity. The Goldstein family emerged victorious, securing the $250,000 grand prize, which was directed to the Centre for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Mount Sinai Hospital. In total, the event raised $1 million in support of Sinai Health’s highest priority needs, with the Cynamon family being the top fundraisers. What a night!

Exciting, fast-paced and bursting with energy, this year’s Duck and Dodge tournament united 16 teams and 118 participants for a day of friendly competition, raising $126,000 to advance neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) research at Sinai Health’s Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI). Founded in 2019 by Claire and Craig Rankine, the event featured LTRI’s own team, captained by a Rankine family fellow Dr. Chris Lowden. With more than $750,000 raised to date, Duck and Dodge continues to drive discovery and better outcomes for patients with NF1..

May 31, 2026 marked the 4th Annual Raptors for Research event, an action-packed day where the 3-on-3 basketball tournament united passionate teams, sponsors and supporters in raising critical funds for the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute. Lay-Up Basketball was back to defend their 2025 “Top Performing Team” title, and teams from Metropia, crowned “Top Fundraising Team” in previous years, returned alongside TorQuest Partners, Torys LLP and RPIA. We also introduced our first-ever women’s division after seeing a significant rise in all-female teams last year.
